Nearly 200 students and volunteers join Blood donor day MIT University Vietnam
Adopting the motto “giving is lasting forever”, MIT University collaborated with the Red Cross Association of Thong Nhat district, Dong Nai province to organize the Blood donation campaign “A drop of blood to give– A life to stay”, which has collected 140 units of blood bags in just one morning
On the morning of October 11, 2022, the Humanitarian blood donation campaign “A drop of blood to give – A life to stay” took place at the U hall of Mien Dong Innovative Technology University
The event was a biannual program organized by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union – Student Association MIT University collaborating with the Red Cross Association of Thong Nhat district, Dong Nai province
The blood transfusion program recorded a total amount of 140 blood bag units. This blood supply event helped to add more blood bags to hospital blood banks and alleviate the blood supply shortage across the country in recent times. This humane act of donating blood by students and staff of MIT University was dedicated to unfortunate and needy patients
Many students in the volunteer blue shirt also actively assisted the medical team in recording the personal information of blood donors, transporting and arranging medical instruments, giving instructions to other students on how to fill out the registration form, etc
The event also attracted local volunteers and many students from other localities and schools to participate in this blood donor day at MIT University
Sharing her feelings about her 6th time joining this blood donor day, Le Van Quynh Huong (a specialist at the Center for Admissions and Communications at MIT University) said: “When I was a student, there was a time when a relative of mine experienced a health issue and needed a blood transfusion, a lot of volunteers came to support. I personally feel the immense value of blood donation and I want to spread this positivity to many more people.”
Donating blood not only saves lives but also helps donors stay healthy. Each MIT-ers is entitled to free health check-ups and consultations
In other words, donating blood is a great opportunity for each individual to have their blood tested and their overall health checked to identify their blood type and any infectious diseases (your information will be notified directly to you and is completely confidential)
In addition, each blood donor will receive a Certificate of Voluntary Blood Donation and a cute teddy bear as a gift
A voluntary blood donation is an act of positive humanitarian significance. Blood is a particularly precious donation of kind and responsible hearts to the community. When a single drop of blood is given, a life is saved, thereby donating blood is a true act of kindness giving needy patients a chance to live or prolong their lives.
